There are several trends in NYC streetwear for fall 2020. The first trend is leather. There are plenty of ways to wear leather, but the most popular is with a trench. During New York Fashion Week, long leather coats were everywhere, paired with wearable jeans and boots. The next trend is cerulean, the color of the year chosen by Pantone. Several designers chose this shade for Fall, and it was prominent at Carolina Herrera and Sally Lapointe.
In terms of colors, plaid will be a major trend in fall 2020. Various styles were shown during the season, including a flyaway hem on Monse’s dress. Dion Lee showed an apron-esque dress with a wide opening on the stomach. Proenza Schouler slashed the waist of her dress half-way. Eckhaus Latta and Christian Cowan morphed a rectangular cutout into a round one.
