The boho style of dressing also referred to as boho chic and boho fashion, was popularised during the 1960s and 1970s by the Flower Children or hippies. Known for their creative, carefree, and liberated vibe, outfits like boho dresses are more than just a style trend. There’s no denying it’s a distinct culture with particular ideologies and complicated history. Although bohemian fashion originated with the hippie movement of the 1960s and 1970s, it is now incorporated into mainstream fashion.

A boho colour scheme usually includes pinks, golds, yellows, and oranges. However, there are also bold colours, such as turquoise, blue, and green.

What are the Different Categories of Boho Dressing Style for Women?

A unique look can be achieved with these dresses on special occasions. There is also a strong trend for bohemian prints and pieces. The following are some categories from which you can choose.

    The 70s Boho Style

During the 1970s, clothing reflected the traditional viewpoint of past bohemianism, merging it with free-thinking fashion.

The styles offered in this type of styling are liberating, featuring floral prints and paisleys, flowing dresses, and feminine solid silhouettes. An ultra-flared denim shirt, bishop sleeves, chunky wooden heels, and Swedish hasbeens are items in the wardrobe. The 70s also emphasised groovy prints, chunky heels, and platforms with wooden accents and outlets. As a result of this free-flowing, sensual, yet sophisticated dress style, the current style known as boho chic was born.

This boho style is perfect for those with a free-spirited and romantic spirit who appreciates feminine, vintage clothing. Featuring a feeling of whimsy and fairytale vibes, Ivory and pink hues are used in the romantic boho look, mashed with softer hues, ivories, and blush tones. A bohemian bride can achieve a romantic boho look with florals, sheer stuff, and mesmerising accessories.

    The Country Bohemian Style

Bohemian and country styles are deliberately blended into the country bohemian style. The design combines local and rural features with bohemian sensibilities, emphasising sustainability and rustic elements while incorporating modern elements. With leather belts, perforated accessories, fringe galore, cowboy hats, and fedora hats, the country-inspired bohemian look is prevalent. It includes cowboy hats, Denim Shorts, loads of coats, jackets, trousers, leather jackets, boots, and floppy hats. Warm colours like caramel, yellow, and deep browns are also popular.

    The Chic Bohemian Style

A bohemian or hippie style of clothing, boho-chic is a style of fashion influenced by various bohemian styles. The chic bohemian style is similar to the messy bohemian look, only a bit more polished. Regarding manners, style lovers upgrade their boho dresses by adding more polished clothing items and accessories, replacing tattered clothes with new ones, and ditching clunky heels and gladiators for sleeker replacements.

    The Edgy Bohemian Style

Colours like black, burgundy, camel, caramel, and leather and studs are all part of an edgy bohemian arsenal. To create an edgy boho look that combines two styles without looking disjointed, it’s also important to incorporate vintage tees, grunge details, leather bracelets, and metallic elements.

    The Eclectic Bohemian Style

A multifaceted space is truly the essence of the boho style, drawing inspiration from many sources. It is common to see eclectic bohemians wearing a mishmash of pieces from different eras, cultures, and styles lovingly blended into one cohesive outfit that is imperfectly balanced and harmonious. Ethnic bohemians create distinct types, following no fashion rules where creativity is emphasised.
